Potentate Elect's Message

As I begin to write this message for the January/February Feztivities, my thoughts tend to wonder about the awesome task ahead. I would like to thank the Nobility for having faith in me to lead Sesostris Temple throughout 2019. This position carries a high honor and great responsibility. I look forward to working with you to grow our fraternity and leave it better than we found it. We all share a great responsibility to the mission we serve.

With the above paragraph in mind, Nancy and I look forward to working with each of you and your ladies in promoting our theme, “Shrine Kids are Precious Jewels.” As we do that, the hopes will be that all of us will have purpose, fun and enjoyment promoting our great philanthropy. Nancy and I both tend to think outside the box and we plan on having some different fun events throughout the year. We hope that the Nobility and their ladies will step up and support all that we have planned. In the March/April Feztivities my message will showcase all the new events and dates. This might be early to bring this to your attention in my first message, but we all need to work hard and diligently on membership throughout 2019.

Along with this and closely parallel is membership retention. We have been doing a poor job of retaining our newest members. So one of my top priorities this year will be working on membership retention.

For 2019, we will have a Divan that looks very similar to the 2018 Divan. The Elective Divan for this year will be Chief Rabban, Dan Johnson; Assistant Rabban, Jerry Pigsley; High Priest and Prophet, Dale Brambilia; Oriental Guide, Merv Moeller; Treasurer, Henry Schultz; and Recorder Bill Cummins. The following have been appointed to the Divan: First Ceremonial Master, Bob Kruse; Second Ceremonial Master, Mike Berger; Director General, Todd Tinnean; Marshal, Don Schleining; Captain of the Guard, Pete Kruse; Outer Guard, Brian Nelson; and Chaplin, Ed Bennett. Nancy and I look forward to working with each of the these dedicated leaders and there ladies. I also look forward to working with the dedicated staff at Sesostris. I know that I will need a lot of their assistance with all the diverse ventures of the shrine.

As we all work together in 2019 remember this quote from Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”
