Rainbow of Hope Award

Sesostris Shrine is proud to announce that Sofia Tate of Columbus, NE was one of three recipients of the Rainbow of Hope award from Shriners Hospitals for Children -- Twin Cities. This award is given to current or former patients of the hospital who have made significant contributions to their communities or schools and for overcoming life’s challenges. Tate received her award at Hospital Day. She received a cash prize and had her name placed on the plaque in the hospital’s main lobby. Sofia was born in Bulgaria and adopted by her parents, Jill and Rick Tate when she was 18 months old. She was born without her right leg. Shortly after adoption, she became a patient of Shiners Hospitals. By the time she was five year’s old, Tate had started taking dance classes. In high school, she was on the swim team and cheerleading squad. Tate currently attends Wesleyan University in Lincoln, where she is on the cheer squad. Tate is also a recipient of the Ron Gustafson Inspiration Award, presented by the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame |
