HILLBILLY'S MISSION STATEMENT
  • MAIN ACTIVITY: Participate in the parades and hold one initiation using the Hillbilly Ritual.
  • EVENTS/FUNCTIONS: Each year we hold a Hillbilly Ball, Christmas Party and annual event at a cabin west
    of Seward.
  • INVOLVEMENT OF FAMILY MEMBERS: Nobles and their Ladies (Hillbilly's and Hillbilly Gals) participate in all meetings and social functions. The only activity the ladies do not participate in are the parades, but we encourage family attendance at the parades.
  • MEETINGS: We hold between 4 to 6 meetings per year. We usually have dinner meetings and these are held at the Shrine Activities Center. & Hillbilly's and Hillbilly Gals are welcome to attend all meetings. Most dinners average $3.50 each.
  • ADDITIONAL COSTS: One-time initiation fee of $45.00 per couple ($30.00 + $15.00).
  • No annual dues.
  • PREREQUISITES TO JOIN: Be a Shrine member in good standing with their Temple.
  • LIMITS: None. As of April 1998, we have 235 Hillbilly's and 229 Hillbilly Gals.
  • OTHER INFORMATION: There are 3 Outhouses connected with the clan.      They are:
  • Outhouse # 81 Geneva
  • Outhouse # 3 - Hebron

    Usin hillbillies & hillbilly gals don't do much - wein git up with dem chickens doe haven't much to do but we're about 1/2 done about noon - So dat tells ya what our day is like -we shor do have fun - Dats what us'in hillbilly's are about dar is about 55,000 hillbillies over the years so we'in are doin sum ting I guess - Our in Clan #136 has donated over $4,000 dollars to fer - so I guess we'in doing sum ting right.
