How are North and South teams divided?
Dividing lines between North and South teams is Interstate 80, with the exception of towns and teams on the line. They will be divided to equalize the total number of players. The cities of Omaha & Lincoln are divided independently. How are Coaches selected? In selecting the coaching staff each year, the Nebraska Shrine Soccer Classic Committee, takes into consideration the location of previous coaches and choose, as nearly as possible, the new staff on geographically equitable basis statewide. Each year all previous Soccer Classic Assistant Coaches are considered for the had coaching assignment. To be a Head Coach you must have served as an Assistant Coach. The selection of the coaching Staff is made early in February each year.

How are Players selected?
In March each year, a ballot is sent to all schools in the state having Boys and/or Girls Soccer programs, which numbers 74 schools in the State of Nebraska. The coaches are asked to consider their players who are graduating as a potential Nebraska Shrine Soccer Classic Player. This information is returned to the Soccer Committee Office on a recommendation Ballot Form. When the Soccer Office receives all the ballot forms, they are turned over to the selected Coaching Staff to begin the player selection process. Each coaching staff carefully weighs the information on the recommendation ballot forms and makes their selections based on pertinent information provided by their coach, their knowledge of the players and the recommendations before making their final 20 player teams (Boys North & South, Girls North & South). In addition to the final selection of 20 players per team, a number of players are selected as alternates in case some decline to play or injuries prevent their participation. Players who decline usually do so because they receive a Military Academy appointment, move out of State, etc.

Who selects the players?
Members of the Shrines from Tangier, Tehama or Sesostris, or any Shrine Soccer Classic Directors or Staff, have absolutely no part in the selection of players. This is done entirely by the coaching staffs.

What are the rules of the game?
National Soccer Federation Rules will apply. The special tie breaker point system is as follows:
1 Most corner kicks. 2. Most shots on goal. 3. Most throw in's
